Who are we?

homeThe Gwent Guild of Weavers Spinners and Dyers is a large, friendly and enthusiastic group from across South Wales. We have a varied range of interests which expands well beyond the umbrella of ‘weavers, spinners and dyers’. Some of us have been spinning or weaving for years, others are beginners or are trying a new skill. Most of us learn something new every meeting! So whether you fancy learning something new, or talking through a particularly tricky problem you’re having, or maybe just meeting some like-minded souls, our Guild is a good place to start.

Where do we meet?

We are lucky enough to have our own meeting place at Greenmeadow Community Farm in Cwmbran. There is plenty of parking and it is well signposted - just follow the brown sheep signs.

Our meeting room has beautiful high ceilings and enough space to accommodate a number of full-size looms and a well-stocked library, both of which you can spot on our gallery pages. There are also a number of spinning wheels for members to try out.

Visitors to the farm are welcome to come and see us during the farm’s open months, from February to December. If you would like to visit with a view to joining the Guild, please contact our Secretary first so we can arrange for someone to meet you.
